UNDERSTAND. GROW IN CONFIDENCE. MOVE FORWARD.
The ARTORA approach: the advantage of learning ahead.
Discover a concept before class, explore it during the lesson, and consolidate it afterwards: an approach that builds reference points and encourages participation.
- Before class: build reference points
- During class: recognize and question
- After class: check and consolidate
Before class: build reference points
Pre-teaching introduces selected concepts before they appear in class. It does not replace the teacher or mean rushing through the whole curriculum. Choose a concept and example based on the known course sequence.
During class: recognize and question
Students can connect explanations with what they have explored and prepare more precise questions. This is a learning goal, not a promise that participation or grades automatically increase.
After class: check and consolidate
Revisit an exercise or a student’s own explanation. Identify uncertainty and adapt support. Having encountered a concept does not prove mastery.
Choose the medium that clarifies the concept
Diagrams, animations, simulations, videos, and exercises can show different aspects of an idea. They are possible supports, not already-advertised proprietary resources. This site loads no third-party educational tool. Optional analytics requires your consent.
ILLUSTRATIVE LEARNING EXAMPLE
A week exploring free fall.
An example of an approach, not an actual student’s story or a promised improvement.
- 01
Before class
Explore gravity, velocity, and acceleration through an idealized free-fall example. A diagram or animation can help generate initial questions.
- 02
During class
Recognize concepts, compare representations, and prepare questions for the teacher.
- 03
After class
Check an explanation, discuss the model’s assumptions, and practise an appropriate exercise.
- 04
With the parent
Share concepts explored and a habit to support, under agreed permissions.
